It is now January and it has been a long time since any of us have had a chance to post what is going on. We made it to over 1,200 pounds of produce harvested in the garden this year which was higher than our goal!! We had an amazing year especially with Pole Beans, Cucumbers were growing out of control and many other things produced well. We will be posting our harvest data soon. In addition, check back often as many photos are going to be added showing how we are continuing to change our methods.
This year we are very very happy to be hosting the CT NOFA Winter Conference. This is the first time it has been in Fairfield County and we are really hoping to have an even bigger turn out for this event then they had last year. Be sure to check out the link above to get more information. On that day there will be tours of our greenhouse, the garden and other programs that the students of Wilton High School are working on. All of these programs are based on getting students connected to the local environment.
We have been supporting a new group this year. We have been sending a large portion of the produce to Community Plates. We have built a great relationship with them and are giving food twice a week to them to deliver wherever it is needed. This is a fantastic group that the students, and I, are very proud to be connected to and we know that they are doing great work all over Fairfield County.
